Our Story
Grand Eleven opened officially in 2023, but our establishment’s roots in Tribeca date back to 1996, when a dimly lit dive bar called Tribeca Tavern opened its doors. The Tavern would become a neighborhood staple in Tribeca for 25 years before finally closing in 2021. Midway through his tenure at Tribeca Tavern, our father, Gregory Nardello, had his sights set on a new project. Right next door to the Tavern sat an old dilapidated brick building. While the building was small and rundown, our father had a vision that it could become something grand.
Dad purchased the building in 2008 and broke ground in 2013. Insisting that he design every square inch of the 3-story building himself, it became a rather lengthy build-out and was finally completed in 2020. Our father passed away in 2021 before he could see his vision become a reality, but his legacy lives on through us at The Grand Eleven.
